Women are invited to a special summer Bible study focusing on “Praying the Psalms with Jesus.” Our study will begin Wednesday, June 8th, at 10:15 am in the sanctuary following morning prayer (Morning Prayer meets at 9 am in the sanctuary and we encourage you to come early to participate). A word from Rachel Vendsel about this study: John Calvin called the book of Psalms “an anatomy of all the parts of the soul,” and said that the psalms act like a mirror reflecting back our hearts. He goes on to describe the way the Holy Spirit gives us language to describe our hearts before God: “… all the griefs, sorrows, fears, doubts, hopes, cares, perplexities, in short, all the distracting emotions with which the minds of men are wont to be agitated” in holy words that we can learn to pray, the same way Jesus prayed them.
