This Sunday we will welcome John Buerger as a special guest to Sunday school and to the pulpit during worship service.
In 2007 John graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, and in in 2012, began serving on the pastoral staff of New St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. It was during this season of ministry that the Lord laid it on their hearts to adopt a little girl from Bulgaria. After visiting with the MTW Bulgaria team in 2015 and 2017 in connection with this effort, they brought home their new daughter—and a calling to serve the people of Bulgaria.
Believing strongly that the Church historically always benefits when theological education, pastoral ministry, and community development are held closely together, John and Ellen plan to serve on the MTW Bulgaria team in Sofia primarily in the areas of developing the Elias Riggs Center for Biblical Studies and coming alongside Bulgarian families with special needs children. They hope to be able to impact future Bulgarian pastors and their families to develop gospel-driven ministries and home lives as they serve the Bulgarian Evangelical Union of Churches. Please pray that the Lord’s grace will be made known in both their ministry and their weakness.
